Many of your questions can be answered by the examples you'll see in here. patches Directory containing by-version patches released to fix problems between releases. rfc0959.txt The definition of the current FTP protocol implemented by the WU-FTPD daemon. Not for the faint-of-heart. telnet.testing.HOWTO A short document explaining how to test the operation of your daemon using the telnet command. Often times problems are masked by the operation of your ftp client (command); this procedure allows you to see the inner-workings of the protocol. unsupported Patches to the daemon which are too old or too crufty to be included in the base release of the daemon. These are here because the WU-FTPD Development Group likes the ideas and may, at some time, include the features in a future version of the daemon. upload.configuration.HOWTO A longish document describing how to safely configure your FTP site to allow remote users to upload files. This is one of the thorniest issues for running a secure site; the document attempts to make the considerations more clear. This document is included in the base release. The version here may be more up-to-date that what you received, so check the date. wu-ftpd-current.tar.Z wu-ftpd-current.tar.gz The current public-release version of the daemon. These are symbolic links to the actual files. Both GNU Zip (gz) and UNIX compress (Z) versions are available. Download the GNU format unless your system only supports UNIX compress.
