Another possible source of fund / financial support:

1. Mining companies: they produce gold, silver, copper and other materials used on CPU. If OpenRISC is succesful and the demand for the product increased, perhaps this will bring increasing demand for various metal. The mining companies are large scale companies: Placer Dome, BHP (Australia), Normandy, South African, Canadian companies etc.

2. Companies that sell IC making equipment: If OpenRISC is succesful, the demand for IC making equipment will increase significantly. Perhaps the company can bundle a free OpenRISC mask set with their machines, therefore the customer can begin the production of OpenRISC as soon as the factory is finished. The customer can also use the OpenRISC mask set for "testing / trial production" phase. Example of companies that manufacture IC making equipment: Applied Materials, Advantest, Hitachi, Tencor, Teradyne, TEL, Ulvac etc.
