Re: [openip] PCI- AMBA

AMBA is an internal SOC interface, essentially owned by
ARM. The advantage of an AMBA interface is that
probably 75% + of commercial SOC systems use ARM,
AMBA. Even many early ARM7 users went to AMBA in
many cases, even though ARM7 didnt use it as an interface.

embedded processors.
A good deal of available IP uses AMBA as de-facto interconnect.
Having an AMBA interface will serve as a good bridge to the
rest of the non wishbone world, giving the SOC designer more options
for using OpenCores, Wishbone.
PCI is an external bus standard. Mainly used to connect
different devices on a board. It is as popular for chip interconnect
as AMBA is becoming for SOC systems.
