RE: [ethmac] 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps Waveform

Hi all,

Thank You Very Much.
What i understood is

 10 Mbps: (copper)
During idle, the line transmits atleast two bit times logic '1' to inform the start of idle and logic '0' always when the link pulse is not transmitted.
Only during transmission, Manchester encoded data stream.

 100 Mbps: (copper)
During idle, the line transmits logic '1' always when the link pulse is not transmitted.
Only during transmission, MLT3 encoded data stream, i.e. MLT3 is used transmission time.

  Is my interpretation is correct??

While in 10M there are link pulse in 100M there is constant
trasmite of idle's.

have a nice day

Assuming here that you are talking about a copper interface: during idle
periods there is no activity (other than link pulses as defined in the
standard). During data periods on the copper, the data signalling is
Manchester encoded for 10MB and MLT-3 encoded for 100MB.

Kevin

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me,
what is waveform structure for 10 and 100 Mbps Ethernet TX+ and TX-
lines (following 802.3) when node is idle state (not transmitting) and
when it is transmitting.

Thanks in advance.
