Mon Apr 21 17:30:52 GMT 2008 applications/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.14-i586-2gsb.tgz: Upgraded. applications/epiphany-2.20.3-i586-4gsb.tgz: Rebuilt. applications/yelp-2.20.2-i586-4gsb.tgz: Rebuilt. office/devhelp-0.16.1-i586-4gsb.tgz: Rebuilt. office/gnome-python-extras-2.19.1-i586-4gsb.tgz: Rebuilt. mono/gecko-sharp-2.0_0.12-i586-4gsb.tgz: Rebuilt. +--------------------------+ Sun Apr 6 20:00:19 BST 2008 * Removed slapt-update-notifier from the extras/ directory. This package had a dependancy on gslapt, which is in testing/. This would cause installs to fail with unmet dependancies. * Actually removed NetworkManager from the gsb-* slack-required files. This had been removed previously (and would have then fixed the install problems users were having), but somehow managed to get back into some files. NAFC how that happened, sorry :) +--------------------------+ Wed Apr 2 18:01:52 BST 2008 * Removed packages in the testing/ area from the meta packages. This was causing many users to have unmet dependancies when trying to install via the net installer, or when following the README instructions. With either of those installation methods users don't have the testing/ directory as a repo without specifically configuring it themselves - meaning slapt-get couldn't locate the packages listed as dependancies. Everything should be resolved now. Please let us know if you still have problems. * Added a gsb-testing meta package to install the testing/ packages. This meta package can only be used if you have configued a SOURCE in slapt-get which includes the testing/ directory - testing/ packages are NOT picked up by slapt-get by adding the main gsb repo. +--------------------------+ Tue Apr 1 14:50:48 BST 2008 * After a lot of discussion on the IRC channel, we at GNOME SlackBuild have decided to focus our efforts on a KDE based project - KDE SlackBuild. We feel that GNOME is simply too inferior to KDE and that common sense tells use we should all abandon GNOME and start using KDE without delay. To that end, we will shortly begin replacing all of the binary GSB packages with KDE packages taken from Slackware. This should facilitate an easy upgrade path for our GSB users - you can use slapt-get to "upgrade" to KDE without changing any repositories. If you have any comments or questions regarding our decision, please feel free to stop by the IRC channel to discuss them; after you check the date ;) +--------------------------+ Sun Mar 30 11:56:01 GMT 2008 * Upgrade to mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.13. This fixes some security issues, see: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/known-vulnerabilities.html#firefox (* Security fix *) * Rebuilt epiphay, yelp, devhelp, gnome-python-extras and gecko-sharp against firefox 2.0.0.13 +--------------------------+ Fri Mar 28 02:47:00 GMT 2008 * Rebuild the meta data with fixes to the SVN meta data building process. The PACKAGES.TXT and other files are now more compliant with the Slackware "standard". Because of this, users will have to specifically add the testing/ directory to their slapt-get repo lists in order to get testing packages. This more accurately matches the way the Slackware tree handles the testing/ directory. If you don't like it, ask Pat to change the way he handles testing/ in Slackware - we are following his lead here :) slapt-get should still pick up updated packages in the patches/ directory without having to add it as a specific repo. +--------------------------+ Tue Mar 25 19:56:01 GMT 2008 * Update MPlayer with security patches: 2008-01-29, 2008-01-30, 2008-01-30 (stream_cddb.c, url.c and demux_mov.c) (* Security Fix *) * Updated gnome-session to export XDG_CONFIG_DIRS and install xinitrc.gnome without a .new extension (thus replacing the current version on the system). This should fix problems users have been having with the GNOME menu's not working correctly. +--------------------------+ Wed Mar 5 13:22:08 GMT 2008 * Released gsb-2.20.3 to the world - a bit later than planned! Thanks to everyone that has helped on the project and with testing. Please read the README for installation instructions. +--------------------------+ Thu Feb 21 18:17:29 GMT 2008 * Last few updates for the gsb-2.20.3 stable release. Keep an eye out over the next day or so for the full release :) +--------------------------+ Mon Feb 18 09:49:43 GMT 2008 * Added package openoffice.org This is a nice gtk + gnomevfs/ui linked version of openoffice.org to complement the GSB desktop. +--------------------------+ Sat Feb 16 01:55:29 GMT 2008 * New slapt-get meta packages. Please test slapt-get installs using these new packages :) +--------------------------+ Mon Feb 11 17:33:22 GMT 2008 * Released gsb-2.20.3RC2 for testing. Please test this release fully and add any bugs to the issue tracker: http://dev.gnomeslackbuild.org/projects/gsb-binary/issues/ We are anticipating the full 2.20.3-stable release on 18th February 2008. * Rebuild slapt-update-notifier. Added a patch to use gksu instead of gnomesu, and added appropriate cron entries. +--------------------------+ Sun Feb 10 22:42:04 GMP 2008 * Updated mozilla-firefox to 2.0.0.12. Security fixes. See http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/known-vulnerabilities.html#firefox2.0.0.12 * Rebuilt epiphany and yelp. Necessary to link against new gecko version 2.0.0.12. * Rebuilt gnome-menus. New patch for menus to exclude KDE, rearrange Xfce. Thanks to Ariszlo for the patch! * Rebuilt compiz. Needed to make new xinitrc.compiz-gnome executable by default. Thanks to Eugene Crosser for pointing this out. +--------------------------+ Thu Feb 7 18:13:36 GMT 2008 * Added sensors-applet for reporting of sensor infortmation. Thanks to byteframe for the suggestion. * Rebuilt gnome-themes. Fixed a small error in the doinst.sh which didn't refresh the newly installed icons. * Rebuilt gnome-session. Small tweak to gnome-wm to use compiz ccp by default rather than gconf/glib. * Rebuilt compiz. Exclude dock and menu shadowing by default (causes white bars around menu and dock). Added a GDM session file (Compiz GNOME in session list now) Added a compiz xinitrc script to use compiz as default window manager. +--------------------------+ Sun Feb 03 13:28:00 GMT 2008 * Rebuilt gnome-menus with a patch to clean up KDE items in menu * Added gsb-gnome-menus (based on gnome-menu-extended by Ariszlo) This package makes a KDE submenu in the GNOME menu to allow for nicer play between KDE and GNOME menus. * Rebuilt gnome-session xinitrc.gnome by adding a XDG_CONFIG_DIRS This will force GNOME to ignore the KDE menu templates by moving the GNOME applications.menu out of the way; this will also prevent KDE from picking up the GNOME template. * Updated to deluge-0.5.8.1 +--------------------------+ Mon Jan 21 23:00:32 GMT 2008 * Released gsb-2.20.3RC1 (gsb-current), with a few updates. +--------------------------+
