Michele,
Yes, just an ordinary telephone cable. Just plug
the end that usually goes into the telephone socket in the wall into the
second computer instead.
I forgot to mention that these commands beginning
with AT are the standard Hayes-compatible modem
commands and can often be found in any modem manual.
(I also forgot to mention that if the modem speaker is off
then the command to make it audible is ATL2 (ATL3
for very loud).
