No. There was only XF86Config itself (file generated by xf86config).
I renamed it and created the correspondind symbolic link to /etc/X11/XF86Config. Then X11 started smoothly.

Well, I think the symlink bug isn't fixed in 7r5b...
I don't understand why this problem didn't occur in my office's computer, where mulinux was installed from the same source floppy.
