News FlashesA new GnuPG website in German has recently been lauchend. A patch has been released to address a security problem related to detached signatures in all versions of GnuPG. The design of this site has changed. It may take a while until the translations catch up on this. More clicks are now needed to read all the stuff ;-). OverviewGnuPG is a complete and free replacement for PGP. Because it does not use the patented IDEA algorithm, it can be used without any restrictions. GnuPG is a RFC2440 (OpenPGP) compliant application.The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology granted funds for the further development of GnuPG. See our press notice for details. StatusVersion 1.0.0 has been released on September 7th, 1999. The current stable version is 1.0.4.Please read about the backend and see the documentation pages for more information on GnuPG.
