This is talk and talkd for Linux TCPIP 0.8.0. Put this in /usr/etc/inet/services: talk 517/udp and this in /usr/etc/inet/inetd.conf: talk dgram udp wait root /usr/etc/inet/talkd talkd Of course, talkd should be copied to /usr/etc/inet. I think the make install does this. I had to hack the talk client to get around some BSD-ish tty defines. This isn't a port I spent a lot of time on (read: quick hack), so do be careful. The port is hard-coded to 517 in the client. Once working it'd be politically correct to uncomment (and restore) the getservbyname() code. Dave Black 09/02/92 dlbb0@diag.amdahl.com
