Digitalk will make available patches to its products which are fixes to those products in the interim between new releases. These patches contain fixes to software and documentation. The files comprising a patch are compressed into a .zip (or for Mac a .sit) file. The file will be named according to the following format: nnvvpp.zip, where nn is a two letter mnemonic for the product (vd = V DOS, v2 = V 286, vm = V Mac, vp = V PM, vw = V Windows), vv is the version of the product for which the patch applies (10 = 1.0, 11 = 1.1, 12 = 1.2, etc.). and pp is the number of the patch itself. VW1002.ZIP indicates the patch applies to Smalltalk/V Win 1.0, and it is the second patch that applies to this version of the this product. The latest patch for a given product/version shall either incorporate or supercede all previous patches for that product/version, you need only be concerned about obtaining/installing a single patch to bring your system up to date.
